Ordering a bespoke, made-to-measure, is the chance to design your own unique custom-made garment, exclusively for you.
How It Works
The process of ordering begins with a free 1 to 1 with our in house fashion designer David Alexander no obligation 30 – 60 minute consultation. This appointment is done face-to-face at our studio based in Dundee where we discuss your ideas and budget and agree on the shape, fabric, cut, and colour of your dress. We will discuss your dress and the occasion, be it a day at the races, a wedding, a prom dress, or just to treat yourself! And remember we’re here to help, more importantly have fun!
Consultation
Your free consultation is your chance to share your ideas and create a dress that reflects your individuality and style.
Come to your consultation equipped with ideas and inspiration. We will work with you to bring your ideas to life and advise you on ways you could enhance your dream garment.

Consultations will take place at our LaMode studio only.
Design
After the consultation, David will sketch out several detailed illustrations going from what was discussed. You'll be invited back into the studio and go through the design illustrations for your approval, the style – be it the neckline, the skirt shape or the length – is up to you. the best part picking the fabrics and then take your measurements.
Measurements
Once the design process is complete measurements will be taken before ordering the fabrics of your choosing.
It’s a quick process, all measurements are taken over your clothes, using a measuring tape and they will never be shared with anyone else. The style of your dress should reflect your individuality and make you feel comfortable and confident.
Fittings
On your first fitting, you’ll try on your near complete garment. This is your chance to see how the finished garment looks and alterations will be made as required. You will need to wear the correct shoes and under garments so we can finalise the length and fit.
For your second fitting, the complete finished garment where any detailed alterations would happen, you can also try on any accessories you are wearing.
The final fitting takes place the week of the event to finalise the overall fit and make any final alterations if required so you have that perfect fit for that special occasion.
COSTINGS & DEPOSIT
Following your consultation, you’ll be asked to formally agree on your garment design and an estimate cost will be supplied to you. A 50% deposit will be required within ten working days of the estimate being supplied. Once this deposit has been paid, LaMode Designs will get to work creating your design.
